Kris Wood and Pat Wilson have been writing for many years. After producing technical manuals and articles they now specialize in humour. They are best-known locally for their "tongue-in-cheek" books on Frenchy's shopping, and other East Coast amusements such as "The Bingo", and "Lobster Suppers".
Their three books, published in Nova Scotia by Pottersfield Press, 'Extreme Sports of the Maritimes', 'The Frenchy's Connection' and 'Pardon My Frenchy's, continue to amuse locals and tourists, alike.
They have written a string of mystery short stories for magazines and anthologies and even garnered a couple of 'Bony Pete' awards along the way. These led to Rendevouz Press of Toronto producing their first full-length mystery novel, 'Lucky Strike', last summer. Set on the Eastern Shore, and rife with the zany antics that makes life around here so very special, the book has found a wide audience and great revues.
Kris has just on April 25 2009, received notice that she has been short listed for an "Arthur Ellis Canadian Crime Writers Award" , to be decided in Toronto in June 2009. The nomination is for her short mystery story "Thinking Outside of The Box" , published in the last Ladies Killing Circle Anthology, "Going out with a Bang".
Pat Wilson has also published a series of inspirational books, most with a humorous slant, for Upper Room Publications in the US.
Recently, the two writers have launched two activity books, and some story books for children under their own 'BJE' imprint.
