Hilda Doucette has been interested in painting for many years. In 1994 – 1995, she took an art program through the International Correspondence Schools (ICS) which covered perspective, drawing, pen and ink, portraits, watercolors, magic art and oils.
After moving back to the Eastern Shore she saw the talent and the interest in art, in her community. So she decided to paint again. In the past few years she has taken acrylics with Liz Barnard, and painting lessons with artist Sandy Moser. Hilda now paints seascapes and landscapes and she also enjoys painting birds.
Her work can be found in collections in Canada and the United States.
