Francis became involved in photography, cinematography, drawing, and woodworking at the age of twelve.

From grade seven to grade twelve he designed cars, trucks, boats, aircraft, rockets, and buildings, and learned to carve wood, hi-density styrofoam, clay, and work with metal.

In college he studied Industrial Design, photography, cinematography, sculpture, ship lofting, and
multimedia illustration. He has worked as an illustrator, lithographer, videographer, sign maker, and graphic designer. He presently owns Dreamtoyz Digital Multimedia.
